Outback Elite Tours’ half-day Ewaninga and Oak Valley tour is an intimate Aboriginal cultural experience unlike anything offered by our competitors. We specialise in small-group touring, with a personal touch and a splash of luxury.

First up, we drive South through the Red Centre’s remote sand hill country, in our comfortable 4WD, to explore the ancient and sacred Ewaninga rock carvings.

Learn about the cultural significance of these astonishing petroglyphs and the Dreamtime stories of the local Arrente Aboriginal people.

Enjoy a lavish European-style morning tea, including your choice of home-made buns, fresh fruit, yogurt, teas, juice, biscuits, and Italian-style brewed coffee.

Then it’s a short drive passing the iconic Ghost Gums and River Red Gums of the riverine woodlands to the secluded Oak Valley Aboriginal Community for an authentic and informal Aboriginal cultural experience.

We join traditional owner Loy for an unforgettable few hours as she shares the stories of her land, her family, and her culture.

Walk with her as she takes you on an enthralling journey through her country as she tells ancient creation stories, teaches about bush tucker and medicine, and unlocks the secrets of Aboriginal rock art and petroglyphs.

The tour concludes with a trip back up the historic Old Ghan railway route to your accommodation in Alice Springs.
